"Wavin' Flag" is a song written and performed by Somali-Canadian artist, K'naan. He wrote the lyrics for his native land, Somalia, with aspirations for 

freedom and peace for its citizens. 

After the 2010 Haiti earthquake, a remake of the song by a supergroup of Canadian artists, credited as Young Artists for Haiti, became a charity single 

again in Canada reaching #1 on the Canadian Hot 100 in its own right.

The song became a truly international hit when Coca-Cola chose it for the promotional anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, hosted by South Africa.
